| Tripadvisor has recently added a ‘warning’ to our listing, accusing us of having 'manipulated' reviews about ourselves without, despite our numerous pleas for information, any explanation or evidence of wrongdoing on our part. They say that it is their ‘policy’ to not provide explanation or evidence, but in our case, the simple reason they can not is because we have never once engaged in any kind of review manipulation. There are, on the other hand, fake negative reviews on our hotel listing that we have proven were written by our competitor, as well as some ‘revenge reviews’ (including photos) written by guests who were unsuccessful in attempting to manipulate us into discounts, freebies, etc... Although we respect that Tripadvisor has become a ubiquitous part of planning travel around the world, we have been greatly harmed by their false accusations and unfair 'hit and run' approach which does not allow any response or defense on our part. By all means, read the reviews, make your decisions according to your own judgment and priorities, but don’t let them replace real communication--which is what really matters-- with us. We are a small, simple hotel, but we have big hearts, and we put them into everything we do, everyday! © 2011 |
